Travelling Tuesday: Great Ocean Road, Australia (Part 1)

So we’re working on the going back to our regularly scheduled blogging. Only 2 more days of South Africa blogging too. Sniffle.

These pictures are from one of my favourite days in my trip to Australia. While we were staying in Melbourne, Kate, Vikki and I hired a car so we could drive down the Great Ocean Road. We were really blessed with a guide of places to stop and check out  by the woman who managed the youth hostel Vikki and I stayed at in St Kilda.

I love the Aussies - they get straight to the point...! Ha ha!

  1. we didn’t make it down the Great Ocean Road unfortunately, just stayed in Melbourne for the 3 or 4 days we were there. Maybe next time, although I’m not likely to be back until 2011 sometime probably.

  2. Hello there. Just stumbled across your blog here. I’m a fellow emetophobe and find you extrememly brave to engage in all the traveling you seem to do. I am terrified of traveling–even within my own state, let alone another country!

  3. Did you get to Wilson’s Promontory at all – the other direction from Melbourne? We were driving through there, went past a sign saying “Koalas for next x kilometres” and I looked up into a tree and SAW ONE! My husband thought I was joking so he kept on driving! Never something you expect to see!

  4. @Connor – Matthew didn’t either. Both of you should. It was my best day in Australia (though hugging a koala was my best ‘moment’ there).

@Prue – No. We went out to the Dandenongs one day, but weren’t overly enthused by it. We loved the Great Ocean Road though. And I still love New South Wales the best.
