Cornish holiday

Well, we are all in Cornwall and loving it. Crossing over the River Amble, we thought ‘what an appropriate name for a Cornish river‘ as ambling is really the pace we’ve been going at. It’s hard to believe we’ve only been here a couple of days, staying in this gorgeous house in a teeny wee village on the North Coast not too far from Padstow. A beach and surf shop literally minutes of a wander from our doorstep.

A-ma-zing.

So far we’ve experienced the best church service ever at the Tubestation. I love the low-tech, non-slick, chilled out feel and not having to listen to someone preach on for almost an hour (praise the Lord!). A barbecue in our back garden followed by getting soaked from a paddle in the sea jumping waves on ‘our beach’ before eating cheese, grapes, biscuits and wine (gin for me!) in the evening. Today a trip to St Ives where the sun came out and we had the best fish and chips EVER, spent an hour on the beach and are now late at night flopped on beds and sofas exhausted, happy and even a little bit sunkissed.

Photos will follow, I haven’t taken loads just because I’ve enjoyed just being in the moment.

If you could pray for Ruth’s car – it had a bit of excitement today when it got stuck in a lot of traffic in St Ives losing all the coolant (steam pouring out the bonnet!). We made it back home ok, but we are a little worried about it still.
